They laugh and love their way through life - and leave a lasting impression on everyone they meet! They love to travel, dine, enjoy life and are truly interested in learning about each person that is lucky enough to meet them.
They wanted a wedding that brought out their personalities, their love for the beach, outdoors and that would celebrate their international guests. They had eclectic cuisine, desserts and drinks from around the world with a simple, elegant theme - with just a little "boho" flair! From the soft blues to reflect the beautiful gulf of mexico, to the dusty linens to play homage to the sandy shore - they wanted their casual beach wedding to still give their guests something to talk about! I love planning each and every wedding I am so fortunate to be chosen for, but the smaller ones hold a special place in my heart. I believe that a successful event lies in the details. Sometimes when you have a larger guest list you are not able to really focus on the little things that make a day so special, but when you are able to really narrow down who you want to invite it gives you the ability to take the time to think about every little thing that goes into the day. We ordered in hand died muslin table runners, custom dishes, and used a hemp stitch napkin to give the table a really soft, yet coastal look. We scoured the area for just the right candle sticks, starfish and table decor to fill the center of the beautiful farm tables with just enough to compliments the greenery and florals so perfectly styled by Victoria Blooms. The Bride and Groom gave us a little direction in their design, and we were able to run with it and do what we do best - make weddings meaningful, beautiful and oh so special. This wedding was complete with Boozey Pops, dancing in the rain, singing at the top of their lunch, happy tears and kind words from the father of the bride. It was truly a celebration! Now about those flowers... The bride's family was originally from South Africa, and they wanted to incorporate some of their heritage into the wedding...which is where this GORGEOUS King Protea came in (it's the national flower). I cannot stop staring at the perfect blooms that were the talk of her South African Family! From beginning to end the day was so much fun to be a part of, I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to get to know such a wonderful family! Sometimes a once in a lifetime venue comes along - and this was one of those times! Ashley and Eric contacted me looking for a private beach wedding, something special and intimate that showed their sense of style and elegance. I had a place in mind, and thankfully the home owners (who are friends and the sweetest people on earth) agreed to welcome them into their home for the big day.
Their beachside palace is nothing short of breathtaking - the bridesmaids were treated to a stunning view of Siesta Key Beach while pampered in preparation for the wedding, while the groomsmen practiced their bowling game in the indoor alley, complete with a night club! When it was time to say "I do" the couple made their way down to their private beach, and joined in marriage in front of 50 of their nearest and dearest. They dined and danced the night away on the powder white sand under the stars of one of the best beaches in the world - Siesta Key. From start to finish, this was a very special wedding for me to plan. I can't thank Beth and Gary enough for opening their hearts and homes to Ashley and Eric - it was truly the perfect start to their life together! Officiant: Your Wed Pastor Living on the Gulf of Mexico, I have the opportunity to call my office the beach from time to time (not a bad job perk). But, this destination wedding was definately something special!
I got a call from the bride about 6 weeks before the big day - asking me to "please help her not loose her mind". I was happy to help, and we got right to work! She wanted an elegant beach affair with pops of coral and navy - we did a few "beachy" touches, but kept is simple and elegant. The groom's love of cigars was celebrated with on site cigar rollers, and her love of sweets with a delicious sweets bar that kept everyone coming back for more! Take a look and the unique touches that this couple chose to make their wedding day stand out, from bobble heads to custom monogramming - it might just inspire you! Ashely and Rob wanted their destination wedding to reflect the feel of the gulf without over doing it. No seashells, no starfish - just the use of the natural tones of the sands of Anna Maria Island to give this amazingly sophisticated beach vibe.
They traveled with their closest family and friends and had perfect weather to celebrate their new life together. The coral dahlia's and natural mint tones were the perfect compliment to the tranquil waters washing up on the sand and the unforgettable sunset that everyone stopped to enjoy together! Both so in love with each other and the life that they are building together - and it shows from the moment you meet them!
I had the pleasure of planning their wedding with them and giving them their rustic beach side wedding that had both coastal touches but also rustic charm that they swooned over! I used the simplicity of natural starfish combined with the rough, down home look of pallets to balance one another and achieve their look. Michelle comes from a BIG traditional Italian family (with personality to spare) and wanted to make sure that there was a nod to her culture in what else - the food! The family style service was perfect, and gave everyone the choice of both a more tropical menu as well as the traditional items such as tomato mozzarella that her family expected. They ate, laughed, danced and celebrated the night away on the dance floor. Both families joined together beautifully and enjoyed every minute of the party! Michaela's dreamy gown set the stage for this intimate wedding on the white sandy beaches of Siesta Key. They were joined with their closest family and friends to celebrate the two families becoming one. Their daughter added a certain sweetness to the ceremony and the love between this family was undeniable!
After the ceremony they dined at Cafe Gabbiano and enjoyed their amazing wine selection. I love each wedding I have the privilege to be a part of - but the fact that this ceremony was centered around the love of a family made it extra special! Mary Kate loves the ocean, outdoors and fresh florals while Jeff is an avid hunter! We found a unique way to represent them both by doing a lovely custom designed table scape as their centerpieces that included fresh succulents, green orchids, mercury glass and white painted deer antlers.
The Siesta Key beach ceremony was followed by an intimate reception at Cafe Gabbiano where the guests enjoyed a menu created by the bride and groom to represent all of their favorite dishes.
