Cassie & Sebastian are infectious. They laugh and love their way through life - and leave a lasting impression on everyone they meet! They love to travel, dine, enjoy life and are truly interested in learning about each person that is lucky enough to meet them.
They wanted a wedding that brought out their personalities, their love for the beach, outdoors and that would celebrate their international guests. They had eclectic cuisine, desserts and drinks from around the world with a simple, elegant theme - with just a little "boho" flair! From the soft blues to reflect the beautiful gulf of mexico, to the dusty linens to play homage to the sandy shore - they wanted their casual beach wedding to still give their guests something to talk about! Their love of life, and each other is contagious and apparent from the first few moments of meeting them.
I had the pleasure of meeting with Valerie and her mother when she was home from deployment (both her and Brenden are active pilots in the military). She and Brenden never lived in the same place, but knew that they wanted to spend the rest of their life together. The couple has traveled, well pretty much everywhere and wanted to show this in their wedding. Her Grandmother's vintage German china, cuisine from around the globe and touches of Americana gave this wedding a unique styling all of it's own! I am a fan of anything different, the colors she let me play with, and the textures she adored were nothing short of remarkable. I am giddy with the end result of their beautiful day. Thank you Valerie, you and Brenden are an inspiration!! I really enjoy getting to know each and every one of my brides. Planning a wedding is such a personal experience and I believe that I can be most creative and inspired when I get to know what makes the couple tick, how they met, how they got engaged and what they plan for their life together!
Sometimes (and this was one of those times) I don't get to meet my couples in person leading up to the big day and we plan over the phone, email, facetime, whatever it takes to comprehend their vision and what will make their wedding day perfect for them. Although I never met, and barely spoke with Ally and Wytch (there was one email chain over the 8 week planning period) I had the extreme pleasure of planning with Susan, Ally's mom. We discussed a few key points that Ally did not want, such as a cake - and replaced that with playful gourmet ice cream sandwiches! After many meetings, calls, emails and inspiration boards - we nailed it! After the wedding, Ally told me that she didn't know she wanted a wedding until she saw how beautiful her's was.... That comment totally made my week, and is why we do what we do, with such attention to detail and with the couple's personality, love and life in mind - even if we only meet them on the wedding day! The gardens have a way of almost coming to life and giving the evening a feeling of enchantment!
Elia and Enrique were blending families, cultures and languages at their wedding - I never knew who spoke with language, but honestly the language of love and laughter was the center point of the night! From the first toast to the last dance, everyone was there to celebrate their new beginning together - which was something really amazing to be a part of. Her vision was simplistic - she was even worried that she "didn't want enough" for her wedding day. We styled up the centerpieces a few different ways, this gave her the modern elegance she wanted without it being "too simple". Let's talk about the gown. I mean, the gown. This Carolina Herrera was a SHOW STOPPER to say the least. I could not pick my mouth off the ground fast enough as I saw her for the first time (and neither could anyone else). It was truly a work of art - and she completed the masterpiece! Her timeless hair, make up and details will never go out of style - and I am sure she and her family will look back at her wedding day as something really special for the rest of their lives. Their love of life, food and travel were apparent, and the main inspiration for their Modern Tuscan wedding.
They wanted to spoil their guests with service, wine, and a really great night - so that is exactly what we did! The twilight ceremony set the stage for a great evening - from the family style dinning to their charcuterie station with custom Italian wine wall (built by my uber talented husband) this one was so fun to pull together! The couple gave me creative freedom and that is a planners dream! The florals were show stopping - fresh lemons, olive branches and loads of candles were the perfect accent to the cafe lighting overhead - that was entangled with greenery to give a really natural feel. I loved each and every detail of this wedding, but I loved getting to know the new Mr. & Mrs. Rodhouse more - congrats to a wonderful couple!!!
