Karishma & Vishal’s Grand Clearwater Beach Wedding at the JW Marriott

Each wedding we design is a reflection of the couple at its heart, and Dr. Karishma and Vishal’s Clearwater Beach celebration was nothing short of extraordinary. Their multi-day wedding at the JW Marriott Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa embraced the grandeur of a traditional Indian celebration while blending it seamlessly with the elegance of a seaside Florida resort. With vision, trust, and teamwork, our team at Jennifer Matteo Event Planning team curated a weekend that truly lived up to big, bold expectations. It was filled with color, culture, and unforgettable joy.

A Weekend of Tradition and Modern Beauty
The festivities began with cherished cultural rituals that set the tone for a heartfelt weekend. A joyful Haldi ceremony filled with laughter and golden hues honored the couple’s families and traditions. That evening, a modern-meets-glamorous sangeet broke all the rules — a striking black-and-gold palette replaced the expected bright colors, creating a dramatic, upscale atmosphere that felt unique to them.

On Saturday morning, anticipation filled the air as guests gathered for Vishal’s baraat. Arriving in a sleek Aston Martin, he made a statement worthy of the occasion, a perfect balance of classic tradition and modern flair. Drums, dancing, and cheers lined the JW Marriott’s waterfront, setting the stage for what was to come.

The Wedding Day
The JW Marriott Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa offered the perfect backdrop for both ceremony and celebration — an oasis of coastal luxury with breathtaking bayfront views. Every moment felt cohesive and effortless, with the resort’s serene energy complementing the lively beauty of the traditions.

Karishma began her morning surrounded by her bridesmaids, her laughter echoing through the suite as Mariana Moreno worked her magic with soft, radiant hair and makeup. When asked about her favorite vendor later, Karishma smiled through tears and said, “My makeup artist, because she handled repeated tears down my cheeks with so much patience.”
She wore an exquisite Seema Gujral gown shimmering with intricate beadwork — a masterpiece that captured her vibrant spirit. Vishal’s look, chosen in India, reflected cultural heritage and sophistication. Together, they embodied the union of timeless tradition and modern refinement.

Led by a Pandit, the couple exchanged vows around a sacred fire framed by floral artistry from Tas Events and Design. Lush color, texture, and movement filled the mandap, accented by elegant décor and custom signage from Upstaged SRQ. Mid-ceremony, the couple and guests were treated to a magical surprise — dolphins swimming just beyond the altar, a moment of pure wonder no one will ever forget.

A Seaside Celebration
As the sun dipped over Tampa Bay, the wedding transformed into an evening of joy and radiance. The ballroom glowed with candlelight, bold blooms, and layered textures, thanks once again to Tas Events and Design and Upstaged SRQ, who reimagined the space for the reception. Every table was a work of art, a reflection of the couple’s bold yet refined style.

Guests enjoyed a menu designed by Chef Indrajeet and the JW Marriott culinary team, a feast that balanced authenticity with luxury. And in perfect contrast to the grandeur of the meal, dessert came in the form of a Publix wedding cake — a sweet, nostalgic reminder that joy is found in both the grand and the simple.
Entertainment was at the heart of the night. DJ Jiten of Empire Entertainment and MC Mrsethee kept the dance floor alive from start to finish. Laughter, music, and cheers filled the ballroom as guests celebrated a love as big and bright as the Florida sunset.
Capturing the Magic
Sollis Studio captured every emotion, the quiet moments of preparation, the beauty of the rituals, and the exhilarating energy of the reception — while Neuen Films transformed it all into cinematic perfection. Every tear, smile, and dance step became part of a story the couple will relive forever.

From the sacred flame to the final song, Karishma and Vishal’s Clearwater wedding was a masterpiece of love, culture, and community. With the guidance of Jennifer Matteo Event Planning, the dream team of vendors created an experience where tradition met modern elegance, and joy was felt in every corner.
The Bride’s Reflections
When asked about her favorite moment, Karishma didn’t hesitate: “Seeing dolphins swim behind us during the wedding ceremony.” Her favorite vendor?
“My makeup artist — she handled my tears like a pro. But honestly, the entire team was a dream team.”
And what did she learn from the process?
“I only want to be married once.”
It’s safe to say that when your wedding is this extraordinary, once is all you’ll ever need.
Frequently asked questions: planning an Indian wedding in Florida
How far in advance should I plan an Indian wedding in Florida?
Ideally 12 to 18 months ahead, and closer to 18 if you're planning several days of events or a popular date in the cooler months. Multi-day weddings have a lot of moving parts, and the best venues and vendors book up early. If your date is sooner than that, reach out anyway and we'll tell you honestly what's possible.
What events can you plan for an Indian wedding in Florida?
We plan the whole weekend. That can include a haldi, mehndi, sangeet, baraat, the wedding ceremony, and a reception, shaped around your family's traditions. Karishma and Vishal's celebration at the JW Marriott Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa, for example, began with a haldi and a sangeet, then moved on to a baraat and a ceremony around the sacred fire. You can read about it in Karishma & Vishal's Grand Clearwater Beach Wedding.
Can we have a baraat at a Florida wedding venue?
Often, yes, but it depends on the venue, so it's worth asking early. We work through the route, timing, and any approvals with the venue, and we plan a backup in case of weather. At Karishma and Vishal's wedding, the baraat gathered along the JW Marriott's waterfront, with drums, dancing, and cheers.
What's the best time of year for an Indian wedding in Florida?
Most couples choose the cooler, drier months, roughly November through April, because outdoor ceremonies and baraats are much more comfortable. Summer brings heat and afternoon thunderstorms, and hurricane season runs June through November, so those dates need a solid weather plan.
How do you plan for Florida weather?
We build a backup plan into outdoor events from the start, including an indoor option for the ceremony and the baraat, and we talk it through with you early so there are no surprises.
Do you work with vendors who know Indian weddings?
Yes. We work with a trusted team that has worked on South Asian celebrations, from florals and mandap design to DJs and catering. On Karishma and Vishal's wedding, that included Tas Events and Design for florals, Upstaged SRQ for décor and signage, DJ Jiten of Empire Entertainment, and the JW Marriott's culinary team for the menu.
Do we need a marriage license for an Indian wedding in Florida?
Yes. To be legally married in Florida, you'll need a Florida marriage license, which you apply for in person and which is valid in any Florida county. Florida residents have a three-day waiting period unless they take a premarital course, and non-residents don't have a waiting period. Check with the Clerk of Courts in the county where you apply for the current rules, and ask your officiant how the legal paperwork fits alongside your ceremony.
How much does an Indian wedding cost in Florida?
It depends on your guest count, how many events you're planning, the venue, and the level of décor and production. An intimate weekend and a large multi-day celebration can look very different. We're happy to talk through a realistic budget with you.
Is Jennifer Matteo Event Planning experienced with Indian weddings?
