Planning Your Wedding at The Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota

Sarasota's Most Iconic Wedding Venue and JMEP Knows It Beautifully
There are wedding venues. And then there is The Ringling. Sitting on 66 acres along the shores of Sarasota Bay, the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art is one of the most breathtaking and recognizable wedding venues in the state of Florida — a rose-colored Venetian Gothic palace surrounded by banyan trees, manicured gardens, ancient statuary, and the soft glow of Gulf Coast sunsets. A wedding here doesn't just feel special. It feels like a completely different world.

Jennifer Matteo Event Planning has had the privilege of planning and coordinating weddings at The Ringling, and we can tell you firsthand: this venue rewards couples who have an experienced, detail-oriented planning team by their side. Between the venue's event guidelines, preferred vendor relationships, photography rules, and the logistics of coordinating across multiple spaces in one evening, The Ringling is a dream — and one that unfolds most beautifully when you know exactly how to work with it.

Why Couples Fall in Love with The Ringling

The Ringling offers something that very few venues in Florida can: the feeling of a European celebration without leaving home. The Ca' d'Zan Terrace, overlooking Sarasota Bay, delivers sunset ceremony views that are genuinely unmatched. The Museum of Art Courtyard transports guests into an open-air space surrounded by replicas of Greek, Roman, and Baroque statuary — romantic, dramatic, and entirely unlike anywhere else. The 66-acre property means your photographer has virtually unlimited backdrops: banyan trees, the mansion's pink marble exterior, bayfront promenades, and garden paths that feel straight out of Tuscany.

Couples who choose The Ringling tend to share a few things in common: they love art and design, they want a wedding that feels genuinely one-of-a-kind, and they understand that extraordinary settings require thoughtful planning. That's exactly where JMEP comes in.

Experience a Breathtaking Ocean-Inspired Wedding at Florida’s Ca’ D’Zan Museum

Tara and Graham's wedding weekend at Ca' d'Zan is one of our most treasured celebrations. Honoring both of their backgrounds, the weekend blended a stunning Hindu ceremony with a classic Western exchange of vows at the iconic front entrance of the mansion — two cultures, one breathtaking Sarasota setting.
The design was rooted in their shared love of the ocean: blues, sandy beiges, and blush pinks carried through every detail, from Tara's magenta sari and Reem Acra ballgown to a driftwood mandap evoking a coral reef. As the sun set over Sarasota Bay, guests celebrated under string lights with gold-accented tablescapes, a live band, and a turquoise wedding cake that was almost too beautiful to cut.
This is what Ca' d'Zan makes possible — a wedding that is deeply personal, visually spectacular, and completely unlike anything else in Florida.

Love Notes
Jennifer Matteo and her team planned our beautiful wedding at the Ringling Museum in Sarasota. We had interviewed with a few other planners but ultimately decided on her after our first Zoom meeting. She was immensely helpful as my husband and I both currently live out of state in the northeast. Our wedding was absolutely breathtaking and our guests had nothing but amazing things to say. The event went by so smoothly and she was there every step of the way. She was thoughtful to both my and my husband, giving us a special memento of personally engraved fortune cookies to remember our special day. She gave great vendor recommendations, but also worked with us when there was something that was really important to us (it was a necessity to have a Chinese family style dinner). Jennifer, thank you so much to you and your team for making our wedding one to remember for years to come.
